JNX Sports The Ripper Fat Burner Sachets

JNX Sports The Ripper Fat Burner Sachets

Brands: JNX Sports
Regular price£4.92

The Ripper is JNX Sports' full-strength fat burner — fast-acting, strongly flavoured, and built around all-day energy and appetite control rather than a single mechanism.

The thinking behind it is practical: a fat burner is only useful if you can stick to the diet it's supporting. Energy keeps training quality up when calories are low, and appetite control makes the gap between meals easier to manage. Both matter more than any thermogenic effect on its own.

These are single-serving sachets — a low-commitment way to try the flavours before buying a tub, or a convenient option to keep in a bag or a desk drawer.

5g single-serving sachets in Pineapple Shred, Raspberry Lemonade and Razor Lime.

Contains caffeine. Not recommended for children, pregnant or breastfeeding women, or anyone sensitive to caffeine. Do not exceed the stated dose, and avoid taking it close to bedtime.

Strong

evidence for caffeine

Our honest take

A single-serving sachet of JNX's stimulant fat burner. The JNX label we checked lists 200 mg of caffeine per serving, which is the most EFSA advises a healthy adult has in one go, plus beta-alanine (the cause of the tingle) and proprietary blends that do not show individual doses. No supplement causes meaningful fat loss on its own; at best the caffeine gives a small rise in energy use and makes training feel easier. Treat it as a very strong coffee in a sachet, and check the sachet label, as formulas can differ between countries.

  • You want to try a flavour before committing to a full tub
  • You are a healthy adult who tolerates caffeine well and is already eating in a calorie deficit
  • You are pregnant, breastfeeding, under 18, or have a heart condition, high blood pressure or anxiety
  • You have already had coffee, energy drinks or a pre-workout that day
  • You want to see every ingredient dose: most of the formula is in proprietary blends
The science

Caffeine· evidence: Strong

Caffeine is one of the best-supported performance aids, with consistent research showing it can improve endurance, strength and alertness. The doses used in research are usually 3–6 mg per kg of body weight, taken about an hour before exercise.

The catch is the dose: it adds to any coffee, tea or energy drinks you already have, and it can disrupt sleep if taken later in the day. There is no authorised health claim for caffeine and sports performance in the UK.

Typical dose: Research doses are 3–6 mg per kg of body weight

Safety: High caffeine content. Not recommended for children or pregnant or breastfeeding women. Healthy adults should keep total caffeine from all sources to no more than 400 mg a day and 200 mg at a time. Avoid late in the day and do not combine with other caffeine products.

EFSA NDA Panel (2015). Scientific opinion on the safety of caffeine. EFSA Journal 13(5):4102.

Beta-alanine· evidence: Moderate

Beta-alanine raises carnosine levels in muscle, which helps buffer acid during hard effort. Reviews of the research find a small benefit in high-intensity efforts lasting roughly one to four minutes, such as hard intervals or rowing sprints. It does little for single heavy lifts or for long, steady exercise.

It works by building up over weeks, so it needs about 3–6 g a day for at least two to four weeks. Many combined products contain far less than that. There is no authorised health claim for beta-alanine.

Typical dose: 3.2–6.4 g a day, split into smaller doses, for at least 2–4 weeks

Safety: Commonly causes a harmless tingling or pins-and-needles feeling on the skin (paraesthesia), which is stronger with larger single doses.

Trexler ET et al. (2015). International Society of Sports Nutrition position stand: beta-alanine. J Int Soc Sports Nutr 12:30.

Chromium· evidence: Limited

Chromium is a trace mineral needed in tiny amounts. Most people get enough from foods such as meat, wholegrains, broccoli and nuts, and true deficiency is rare.

Chromium supplements, especially chromium picolinate, are often sold for appetite, cravings or weight loss. Reviews of the trials have found the effect on body weight to be very small and of doubtful practical value. There is no good evidence that extra chromium helps people who are not short of it.

We make no claims about weight loss or blood sugar conditions. If you have diabetes or take medicine for blood sugar, speak to your GP before taking chromium.

Authorised health claim
Chromium contributes to normal macronutrient metabolism.

Chromium contributes to the maintenance of normal blood glucose levels.

These claims only apply to a product that gives at least 6 µg of chromium (15% of the NRV) per daily dose.

Typical dose: The NRV is 40 µg a day; supplements usually give 50–200 µg

Safety: The NHS says 10 mg or less a day of chromium from supplements is unlikely to cause harm; most products give far less. Speak to your GP first if you have diabetes or take blood sugar medication, or if you have kidney or liver disease.

Ingredients & nutrition

Per serving (1 sachet, about 5 g), from the JNX label we checked: total caffeine 200 mg (from caffeine anhydrous and guarana); vitamin C 45 mg (56% NRV); vitamin B12 25 µg (1,000% NRV); pantothenic acid 4 mg (67% NRV); chromium 100 µg (250% NRV).

Proprietary blends (no individual doses given): beta-alanine, guarana extract, raspberry ketones, caffeine anhydrous (2,051 mg blend); taurine, acetyl-L-carnitine, green coffee bean extract, green tea extract, cinnamon bark extract, olive leaf extract (1,106 mg blend). Also contains acids, flavourings, sweeteners (sucralose, acesulfame K) and colours.

Pack and allergens: 1 sachet = 1 serving. Made in a facility that also handles peanuts, tree nuts, milk, egg, wheat, fish, shellfish and soy. Formulas can differ between countries, so check the sachet label.

Always check the pack you receive, as manufacturers sometimes update recipes.

How to use

Mix one sachet with 180–240 ml of cold water and drink 30–60 minutes before a meal or training. If you have not used it before, start with half to check your tolerance, and do not take it within 6 hours of bed.

JNX allows up to 2 servings a day, but that is about 400 mg of caffeine, the most a healthy adult should have from all sources in a day. If you drink any coffee, tea or energy drinks, keep to one. Beta-alanine can cause a harmless tingling. Do not exceed the stated daily dose.
