Everything on this website is general information about the products we sell. It is not medical advice, and it is not a diagnosis.
If you have a medical condition, take prescription medication, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or are under 18, speak to your GP or pharmacist before taking any food supplement. If you feel unwell after taking a product, stop taking it and get medical advice. In an emergency, call 999 or NHS 111.
We are a retailer, not a healthcare provider
SupplementHQ sells food supplements and sports nutrition products. We are not doctors, pharmacists, dietitians or nutritionists, and nothing we publish — on product pages, category pages, guides, blog posts, emails or social media — is a substitute for advice from a qualified healthcare professional who knows your history.
Do not delay seeking medical advice, or disregard advice you have already been given, because of something you read here.
Food supplements are not medicines
The products we sell are foods, regulated as food supplements. They are not medicines, and they are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease or medical condition. Food law prohibits us, and the brands we stock, from claiming otherwise.
Food supplements should not be used as a substitute for a varied and balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle.
Claims we make, and claims we do not
Where a product page carries a nutrition or health claim, it is an authorised claim from the Great Britain Nutrition and Health Claims Register, and it relates to the nutrient, not to the brand. We do not claim that any product we sell prevents, treats or cures a medical condition.
Customer reviews, testimonials and anything we share from social media are individual opinions and personal experiences. They are not evidence of a result you will get, and they are not endorsed by us as factual claims about what a product does.
The label is the authority, not this website
Product information on this site — ingredients, nutritionals, allergens, directions and warnings — comes from the brand owner or manufacturer. We work to keep it accurate and current, but recipes, formulations and packaging change, sometimes without notice.
Always read the label on the product you receive before you take it, and follow the directions and warnings on the pack. Where the pack and this website differ, the pack is correct. Never exceed the stated dose.
Particular care
Medication and medical conditions
Supplements can interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines, and some are not suitable if you have a particular condition. Check with your GP or pharmacist first — particularly if you are on blood thinners, blood pressure or diabetes medication, or are due to have surgery.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
Many supplements are not suitable during pregnancy or while breastfeeding, and some vitamins are actively unsafe at high doses. Take advice from your midwife, GP or pharmacist before taking anything, including products marketed as natural.
Allergens and intolerances
Check the allergen information on the pack every time, including on a product you have bought before. Many sports nutrition products contain or are made on lines handling milk, soya, egg, nuts, peanuts, gluten or fish.
Tested athletes
If you compete under anti-doping rules, you are strictly liable for what is in your body. Check that the specific batch you have is covered by a testing programme such as Informed Sport before you use it. We cannot give anti-doping clearance for any product.
Age
You must be 18 or over to order from this website. Some products are not suitable for children or young people at all, and the pack will say so. Keep supplements out of the reach of children.
If something goes wrong with a product
Stop taking it. Get medical advice if you need it. Then email us at info@supplementhq.co.uk with your order number and the batch number and best-before date from the pack, so we can trace it and raise it with the brand.
You can also report a concern about the safety or labelling of a food supplement to your local authority or district council, which will pass it to the Food Standards Agency.
If the product is faulty or not as described, our Returns & Refunds policy sets out what you are entitled to.
Limits of this page
We take care over what we publish, but we do not warrant that the information on this website is complete, accurate or up to date at all times. Nothing on this page limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be excluded or limited under English law — and nothing here affects your statutory rights.
