Clear allWhat size protein shaker do you need?
Match the shaker to your serving: check the capacity in millilitres and how much liquid your powder's label asks for, then leave room for the powder and for shaking. Mass gainers usually need much more liquid than a standard protein scoop, which is why we stock a separate, larger gainer shaker.
If you mix one standard serving at a time, a standard shaker is usually enough and is easier to carry.
Plastic or stainless steel?
Plastic shakers are light and usually cheaper. Stainless steel shakers, such as the steel shaker in this range, are heavier and more durable, and tend not to hold on to stains and smells in the same way. Whichever you choose, look for a secure lid: our range includes a shaker with a locking lid. Also check whether there's a mixing ball or grid, which helps break up clumps, and whether the measurement markings on the side are easy to read.
How do you stop a shaker smelling?
Rinse it as soon as you've finished, wash it in warm soapy water, and let every part dry with the lid off. Take out the mixing grid or ball and clean around the lid seal, where milk and protein residue builds up.
Check the manufacturer's care instructions before using a dishwasher, and avoid leaving a used shaker sealed in your bag.
