Insufficient
evidence for estrog-100 (korean herbal blend)
Our honest take
Built on EstroG-100, a patented blend of three Korean root extracts: Cynanchum wilfordii, Phlomis umbrosa and Angelica gigas. The only trials are a few small ones funded by the ingredient maker, there are no authorised claims, and we make no claims about the menopause. The supplier also had a raw-material substitution problem in Korea in 2015, so the evidence base is thin on every front.
- You have tried other options, checked with your GP, and want to try EstroG-100 specifically
- You need a soy-free, vegetarian capsule
- You take blood thinners or have surgery coming up (Angelica species may affect bleeding)
- You have had a hormone-sensitive cancer, or take HRT without your GP's agreement
- You are pregnant or breastfeeding
The science
EstroG-100 (Korean herbal blend)· evidence: Insufficient
EstroG-100 is a patented blend of three Korean root extracts: Cynanchum wilfordii, Phlomis umbrosa and Angelica gigas. It has been tested in a small number of short trials funded by the ingredient maker.
That is not enough independent evidence to judge it, and there are no authorised health claims, so we make no claims about what it does. In 2015 Korean authorities found some batches of the supplier's raw material had been substituted with a different Cynanchum species, which is worth knowing when choosing a brand.
Typical dose: Trials used 514 mg a day.
Safety: Angelica species may add to the effect of blood thinners and increase sun sensitivity. Do not use in pregnancy or breastfeeding, or if you have had a hormone-sensitive cancer. Speak to your GP first if you take HRT or other regular medication.
