At a glance
Limited
evidence for mixed creatine forms
Our honest take
Capsules mixing several creatine forms with small amounts of amino acids, B vitamins and a little caffeine from green tea and guarana. The label is unclear: the serving is 2 capsules with 1.2 g of creatine blend, but the directions say 4–6 capsules, which still gives well under 3 g of creatine. We have not shown a price per dose. Plain creatine is cheaper and easier to dose correctly.
- You specifically want this multi-ingredient capsule
- You want a clear, full creatine dose: even 6 capsules is under 3 g of the blend
- You avoid caffeine late in the day
- Cost per dose matters
The science
Mixed creatine forms· evidence: Limited
Some products mix several types of creatine, such as citrate, pyruvate, malate, magnesium chelate, ethyl ester or alpha-ketoglutarate, often under a branded blend name. The idea is that each form adds something, but there is no good evidence that a mix works better than the same amount of plain creatine monohydrate. One form, creatine ethyl ester, did worse than monohydrate in a controlled study because more of it broke down before reaching the muscle.
The main practical problem is that blends often do not say how much actual creatine you get, which makes it hard to check you reach 3 g a day.
Creatine increases physical performance in successive bursts of short-term, high intensity exercise. The beneficial effect is obtained with a daily intake of 3 g of creatine.
Typical dose: Enough to provide 3 g of creatine a day; check the label
Safety: Same general precautions as creatine monohydrate. Speak to your GP first if you have a kidney condition.

Caffeine· evidence: Strong
Caffeine is one of the best-supported performance aids, with consistent research showing it can improve endurance, strength and alertness. The doses used in research are usually 3–6 mg per kg of body weight, taken about an hour before exercise.
The catch is the dose: it adds to any coffee, tea or energy drinks you already have, and it can disrupt sleep if taken later in the day. There is no authorised health claim for caffeine and sports performance in the UK.
Typical dose: Research doses are 3–6 mg per kg of body weight
Safety: High caffeine content. Not recommended for children or pregnant or breastfeeding women. Healthy adults should keep total caffeine from all sources to no more than 400 mg a day and 200 mg at a time. Avoid late in the day and do not combine with other caffeine products.
