This collection includes a ubiquinol capsule, a multi with CoQ10 and a multivitamin oral spray with CoQ10.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eCoQ10 has no authorised health claim, so we don't say it supports the heart or energy. The US National Institutes of Health says the few studies on CoQ10 and heart disease have given inconclusive results, and that it \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/www.nccih.nih.gov\/health\/coenzyme-q10\"\u003emay interact with the blood thinner warfarin and the diabetes drug insulin\u003c\/a\u003e. Compare the milligrams of CoQ10 per daily dose and the cost per day.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch2\u003eWhich heart and brain claims are authorised?\u003c\/h2\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eOnly a few, each tied to a nutrient and its conditions. \"EPA and DHA contribute to the normal function of the heart\" may only be used for a product that is at least a source of EPA and DHA, and the reader must be told that \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/www.legislation.gov.uk\/eur\/2012\/432\/annex\"\u003ethe beneficial effect is obtained with a daily intake of 250mg of EPA and DHA\u003c\/a\u003e. \"DHA contributes to maintenance of normal brain function\" may only be used for a product with at least 40mg of DHA per 100g and per 100kcal, again with the reader told the effect is obtained with 250mg of DHA a day. \"Thiamine contributes to the normal function of the heart\" applies where a product is at least a source of thiamine (vitamin B1).\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSo a product can carry these claims only because of its EPA, DHA or thiamine content, and only if it meets those conditions. Check the label: an omega-3 gummy, for example, may not reach 250mg a day. \"Where evidence is limited or inconclusive, we should say so openly,\" says Andy Arshad, who runs SupplementHQ.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch2\u003eWhat else is in this collection?\u003c\/h2\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThere's an omega-3 gummy, a B-vitamin formula and a NAD+ with resveratrol product. For omega-3, the NHS says a healthy diet should include \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/www.nhs.uk\/live-well\/eat-well\/food-types\/fish-and-shellfish-nutrition\/\"\u003eat least 2 portions of fish a week, including 1 of oily fish\u003c\/a\u003e; see our \u003ca href=\"\/collections\/omega-3-fish-oils\"\u003eomega-3 page\u003c\/a\u003e to compare EPA and DHA.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eB-vitamin formulas can contain high doses: the NHS says \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/www.nhs.uk\/conditions\/vitamins-and-minerals\/vitamin-b\/\"\u003edo not take more than 10mg of vitamin B6 a day in supplements\u003c\/a\u003e unless advised to by a doctor.
